Air Suspension Real ADS or Fake ADS?

Time : 2025-03-10

In recent years, the concepts of fake ADS and real ADS have emerged in the field of automotive shock absorbers, sparking widespread discussions among consumers and the industry. So, what exactly are fake and real car shock absorbers?

Fake electric shock absorbers usually refer to resistive shock absorbers, whose working principle is mainly to achieve shock absorption effect by changing the current size. This type of shock absorber mainly relies on resistance to absorb and disperse vibration energy internally, thereby reducing the impact of vibration on the vehicle. Due to its working characteristics, fake electric shock absorbers are generally suitable for low-frequency vibration environments. Structurally, it is mainly composed of resistors and some mechanical components, with relatively low cost. However, its shock absorption effect is relatively limited, and it performs poorly in dealing with complex road conditions and high-frequency vibrations.

In contrast, real electric shock absorbers, also known as electromagnetic induction shock absorbers, work using the principle of electromagnetic induction. It contains a coil and a magnetic core inside. When the vehicle vibrates, the current in the coil changes, generating a force opposite to the direction of vibration to achieve shock absorption. Real electric shock absorbers perform well in high-frequency vibration environments, with higher shock absorption efficiency and stability. For example, when driving at high speeds or passing through continuously bumpy roads, real electric shock absorbers can filter vibrations more quickly and effectively, providing drivers and passengers with a smoother and more comfortable experience. Its structure is also relatively complex and has higher technical content.

From the perspective of market applications, some low-cost car models or vehicles with low requirements for shock absorption performance may use fake electric shock absorbers to control costs. Mid to high end car models, especially those that focus on handling performance and driving comfort, often come equipped with real electric shock absorbers to enhance the overall performance and quality of the vehicle. For example, luxury SUVs such as Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7 all use electromagnetic shock absorption technology, which detects road conditions and driving status in real time through intelligent control systems and multiple sensors, providing drivers and passengers with a smooth and comfortable experience.
